A lot of discussions focus on the value of the project manager on the websites and publications. I have also some comments on the value of project manager.

A project manager should:

1.       Direct the projects to meet the commitment

2.       Quick information collection to know what, how in a chaos situation.

3.       Experience learning from previous projects and former experience to prevent or mitigate risks in the project execution.

4.       Goal focused. All the decisions should benefit the final goals of the projects.

5.       Setup process and reach agreements when a totally new factor coming, such as a new department setup, a new supplier import.

6.       No heroism. All the tasks should rely on the efforts and contributions of all the team members. Show respect to all the team members.
