Project management is a generic way that can be used in all the activities in the personal life. The difference is that someone can manage his life very well and he has a lot of time in thinking and finding new more opportunities.

         In my thinking up to date, the PM should have the following characteristics in the daily working.

a)       Customer/ biz oriented.

No biz no project. Keep mind that the objective of this project all the time and agreed within the team so that everyone can have the same feeling as that of PM.

From the top view, the customer is the one who needs the deliveries that the project delivered. Meanwhile, in the project team, all the objects who need the output from previous roles are also customers.

It is PM to lead the project team, but we can say that the project team members give direction on the project in the technical level.

b)       Communication with all the roles periodically.

Respect all the objects in the project.

Listen to their voice on your working ways, on their difficulties and on their happiness.

All what can PM do is to push the project to deliver on time.

c)       Process and roles.

Project manager is not the STAR in the team. He should know the responsibilities very well of all the roles and have the time line in mind for when and who should start specified activities.

Process is another sharp tool to avoid conflict during project execution. However, some times, there is no related process in a target process area, then PM should take a lead to setup a temporary process that agreed by all the stakeholders.
